Lapland Wedding

Lapland Wedding Portraits - Paju & Christopher

Paju & Christopher gave me a chance to take ”Lapland Wedding Portraits” off from my bucket list, and I’m pleased that we did it. Not only because, after this shoot, came another line to my bucket list, ”Shoot another wedding in Lapland – Do it winter time”. But also because I knew that they don’t want ordinary wedding photos, and they trusted me 100% that I won’t give them that.

So everybody here, if you’re getting married in Lapland winter or summer time, call me. You can email for sure. A letter is okay as well.

So, they got married a few weeks earlier, and they thought why not to photograph wedding portraits later with good time and the right place. Nature is essential to them, and they have a special place in their heart for Finnish nature. Paju is behind of Ps Olen vegaani Youtube channel where she speaks about veganism & Christopher is a chef in Soup . We planned to shoot wedding portraits in midsummer night light where the Sun is not getting entirely down at all. So can you imagine, four to five hours pure sunset or sunrise, depends on how you want to put it? So we flew with Veikko ( I asked Veikko to join us and shoot a little bit behind the scene stuff for us – Dude, thank you very much for your time and effort!) to Rovaniemi and hired a car from there to drive to Molkojärvi. Paju & Christopher was waiting for us in a very Finnish summer cottage. We ate good food and took a good Sauna before we head to Levi – check out their Instagram. We arrived there around 10:30 pm with a few stops and shot till 3 am. We saw a fantastic sunset and sunrise, beautiful Finnish nature what reminded us how lucky we are that we can live in this country. We saw Rudolf (reindeer) and took a good dip in the lake after the sauna the next day – or same day, not sure hahaha. But this was one of my highlights in summer 2018. What a trip!

I want to thank you also Rajala Postitalo Helsinki , Color-Kolmio & Fujifilm Nordic for their help. Without them I wouldn’t shot the photos with the camera what I wanted. I knew that for the place I needed bigger sensor to get more details out of the photos. For these photos I used

Fujifilm X-T2 | Fujifilm X-Pro 2 | Fujifilm GFX 50S & Rolleicord Vb with Kodak Portra 120 800 film.

But now, time to leave you with the photos and BTS video.

Cheers!
